★10 people who inspire your lolita style.★

Kato Kuniko
The mastermind behind the craziness that is Metamorphose temps de fille. I heard that she left the company in 2009 although I'm not sure if its sure. This woman was unafraid to be different in the Lolita Fashion world and I admire her so for it. She has started up two new brands Love dice 56 (50s vintage inspired) and Physical Drop (Lolita).

Mana
In the beginning, Mana was a key figure in exposing Lolita fashion not only in Japan but worldwide. The man was one of the reasons that I got into Lolita fashion. I often thought to myself "he's a guy, if he can wear a lacy dress so can I". One day he will play me a song on his guitar, while we sit surrounded by roses and sip blood. <~ a joke to someone ;P

Takarano Arika
For a woman who is almost 50 years old, she has aged rather gracefully. The Music of ALI PROJECT is absolutely wonderful and has a dark sound, perfect for Gothic Lolitas.

Kaya
I first heard of him because Mana was producing his former band Schwarz Stein. I began to follow his work more closely after he began his solo career. I love his music and elegant outfits for his live shows.

Gashicon
Lolita fashion is known for being a very cute genre, why not have something cute with a twist~ Gashicon is responsible for h.NAOTO's Hangry&Angry line. I love the way she can blend something gross with something cute and have everything work out in the end.

Midori
BTSSB's other model. To by quite honest I would prefer to see her modeling more often than Aoki Misako and her freaky blank stare.

Hasegawa
The man behind Putumayo. I barely see any Lolitas wearing Putumayo but he's stuff is amazing. I have a bag by them and it has replaced everything else as my daily bag not just because of its design but also because its extremely sturdy.

 Yoh
I love his work and all the detail he puts into his illustrations. The illustrations he does for Alice and the Pirates are absolutely stunning. The latest collaboration they did is growing on me. One day, Melty Mermaid Princess will be mine in the brown colorway.

Hirooka Naoto
Whenever I think of Gothic Lolita my mind automatically goes to this guy. My favorites of his lines would have to be Frill,Blood and Channel H. I love the all over prints and raunchy English that often accompanies his pieces.

Erica Antoine
One the first Lolitas I actually became good friends with. When she lived on Hawaii we would often hang out and talk about what new releases we wanted and how Angelic Pretty was making everything way too short. Although she doesn't live here anymore I still believe that we are good friends.

Until next time,

★10 things you can’t live without in lolita.

Confidence
It takes quite a lot of confidence to go out in Lolita. When I first started, I was rather scared and afraid of what people would think. It took a while to get over this fear and concern but I convinced myself that as long as I feel beautiful nothing can bring me down.

 Lolita Friends
Having someone to share your frilly obsession is always good. Having someone to share wardrobes with, even better.

Petticoat
No Lolita outfit is complete without one or more of these to give you that essential poof.

Basic white and black blouses
I'm not one to wear skirts so there's is no need for me to spend more money on extravagant blouses. I like to stick with blouses that are relatively simple since any extra frills may add strange lumps under my dresses.

 Headpieces
I sort of think of headpieces as a cherry on an ice cream sundae, an outfit doesn't seen complete with out some sort of hair adornment.

Parasol
Living on a tropical paradise is bliss...not when you are dressed in layers, the sun is beaming and the humidity level is on the rise. Whenever I leave the house in Lolita, I have one of these by my side.

Fan
Fans help to add some elegance and keep cool in tropical weather.

Lolita Bag
Bags are not only for holding things but a key accessory and should be coordinated accordingly. One of my biggest pet peeves is when bags don't match. Many times I see beautiful coordinates only to be brought down by mismatched bags.

Fragrance
Lolita fashion is a feast for the eyes so why not smell as good as you look~ I often pick my fragrance for the day depending on the outfit. If it is something sweet then perhaps something along the lines of sweets and baked goods. For gothic, a nice bouquet of roses with  hints of lavender and rosemary. Pirate Lolita leaves me baffled...I don't think anyone wants to smell like a dirty seafarer and booze...

Signature Piece
Everyone has that one piece in their wardrobe that they are known for. For me, it is this h.NAOTO Frill JSK. There is a rather funny story about this JSK and the few that were there when it happened have dubbed this dress the "OMFG, YOU'RE A BOY?!' dress.

★items on your wishlist.★

Metamorphose D.Walkure Series
This series was not released outside of Japan because of complaints from western customers. I thought that the reaction was a little blown up but I can see where people are coming from with that. My personal opinion in regards to the reaction is~ "A person may be defined by their choice of clothing but is more so defined by their actions"

Angelic Pretty Twinkle Mermaid JSK
Mermaids have always been one of my favorite mythical creatures. Looking at all of the mermaid prints that Angelic Pretty has released, this would have to be my favorite.

Metamorphose Sailor Jumpsuit
I have been searching for this for a long time but it never seems to come up secondhand. I guess I'll just have to bit the bullet and buy it direct from Meta if they release it again in the next sailor series.

AatP Vampire Requiem
I think this is currently AatP's most sought after print. I would have seriously considered snapping it up during the second release if it was available in this color and cut.

Juliette et Justine Crucifixion JSK
I'm a sucker for velvet and religious imagery. Although it is very plain it leaves a enormous amount of possibilities for coordination.

BTSSB Alice Playing Cards JSK
I have only seen this print used for Baby's yukatas in the past. After browsing around on closet child, I fell in love with the print in this colorway.

Innocent World Carousel JSK
I'm usually afraid of color but this JSK is absolutely stunning.

PUTUMAYO Chiffon OP
Putumayo seriously deserves more love. They may be known for their Punk Lolita designs but they also create beautiful Lolita dresses from time to time.

MaM Black Cat Alice's Candy Kingdom Mysterious Tea Party JSK
I usually have don't care for things Maxicimam releases but while looking for a parasol this caught my eye. I hate pink but this was the only colorway that didn't make me want to vomit.

Moi meme Moitie Iron Gate OP
Whats a wishlist without this baby~ I never really lusted after Moitie until Holy Queen came into my life but now I want more. I have been saving as much as I can and am almost to that outrageous amount that people want for this OP.

Until next time,

★10 different kinds of food you like.★

1. Rice
Coming from an Asian and Pacific Islander/Polynesian background, there really isn't a way to break from its sticky white grasp~
2. Japanese Curry
There is something different about this particular type of curry, it almost has a sweet undertone to it.

3.Cherries
Cherries are one of my favorite fruits. My favorite way to eat them are just plain or in a fruit salad along with honeydew melon and dragon fruit.

4. Matcha Roll Cake
First had this as a child when my grandmother brought some with her from Japan. Since then, I've always been intrigued by green tea flavored things but this would have to be my favorite.
5.Poke(po-keh)
After arriving in Hawaii I saw this stuff everywhere. It looked very similar to sashimi so I thought I would try it. This stuff is sooo delicious~ my favorites would be ahi limu and onion tako~
6. Karamucho Chips
Spicy little potato sticks~ the taste is almost like a cross between barbeque and kimchi flavor.

7.Sushi
So Delicious~ favorite ones would be Ebi,Inari,Maguro and Ika~

8.Taiyaki
Taiyaki is a fish shaped fried sandwich type sweet usually filled with azuki bean paste. Our old taiyaki press broke and I've been looking for this Magikarp one for quite some time with no luck...

9. Shave Ice
Nothing cools off a hot day in Hawaii better than shave ice. The best way to eat these flavorful globs of ice is with ice cream, azuki bean paste and topped off with sweetened condensed milk.

10.Mont Blanc
Macarons and an assortment of cakes seem to dominate the Lolita sweets preference leaving this little guy in the back of the glass case. This things are absolutely delicious~ I first tried them in Japan and was hooked. Luckily there is a bakeshop around here that has them from time to time.

10 things you hate about lolita.★

1. Short dresses ~ Being on the taller side, I hate when cute things are released and are way too short for me. I would love to purchase some dresses by Angelic Pretty but having tried on a few of their pieces I find most to be way too short for me D:

2. Long sleeved blouses ~ Once again my height works against me. Most long sleeved blouses look awkward on me because of my long limbs. Luckily, I have been able to remedy this problem with wrist cuffs adding some length to the cuff area.

3. OTT Sweet Lolita  ~ It's way too much of everything...

4. Bad lace ~ This mostly pertains to things by Meta~ They have released many beautiful things covered in bad lace...

5. Bad wigs ~ Many people interested in Lolita Fashion often use wigs as opposed to their natural locks. I find that most look wonderful but sometimes they seem to hurt an outfit more than help.

6. Mixing genres ~ Angelic Pretty x h.NAOTO? Unless you have amazing coordination skills or a vast wardrobe, I don't think things will turn out well.

7. Not dressing to your body type ~ I'm not trying to bash anyone with this, I just think that for example~ you just have to have the latest dress, make sure it fits well.

8. Boob loaf ~ Ties in with the last dislike~ I'm not a fan of normal dresses going from a normal, waist length dress to a baby doll dress.

9. No make up ~ This is not always true. There are many beautiful people in this community but if you are someone like me that need the extra coverage, it doesn't take much time out of your day to cover up those little flaws.

10. Crazy head things ~ Melted ice cream cone or a plate of Jell-O? I'm sorry girls, it just seems tacky...

This was rather hard to do. I don't really like thinking about things that I dislike.

Until next time,
